Blue stands for Liquid Solidification (2023)

Blue stands for Liquid Solidification is a documentation of various stages of Regenerative Flows by designer Sep Verboom from the exhibition Healing Water. Regenerative Flows is the living landscape in which limewater flows over Belgian hardstone and slowly creates forming lime deposits. At intervals of about one month, the different stages of this growing artwork were photographed and printed on glass, with specific blue accents. The series of four is presented as a timeline, each image showing a different detail of the stone. Each image is accompanied by data (humidity, CO2, number of visitors, temperature in the room) which might have influenced the calcification. Blue stands for Liquid Solidification becomes the artistic translation of documenting a natural process.
